happy industrial postmodernism

Miyasaka Community Hall, Masamitsu Nozawa Building Workshop, 1990. Gable shapes lifted by truss.

The groundfloor on the street side lacks direct interaction with street.

Instead you can look down onto the gymnasium.

A bridge takes you through the building.

On this side the bridge is at the entrance of the building, right next to a tram station on the Tokyu Setagaya-line.

The odd shapes and angles creates hard to use spaces.

The happy industrial postmodernism of the bubble era.
